Lil Ziggy: The Rising Star of CHH

When we talk about prodigious talents in the gospel music arena, we're not just referring to the seasoned veterans who have decades of experience behind them. No, the world of gospel is being rocked by a brand new sensation – a 13-year-old force of nature named Zaire Walwyn, better known to fans and followers as "Lil Ziggy".

Lil Ziggy isn't just any young artist; he's the son of the prominent Von Won, which might suggest that musical prowess runs in the family. But don't let that lineage fool you into thinking he's riding on anyone's coattails. This young star is making his own mark, and in spectacular fashion.

With over a dozen records under his belt and the admirable distinction of writing his own songs and selecting his own production, Lil Ziggy is showing a maturity in music that is beyond his years. It's a speed of creation and consistency that is setting a brand-new pace for the Walwyn family.

Given his age, one might expect his audience to be comprised mainly of peers. But the reality is even more astonishing. He's not only dominating the charts and hearts of the younger generation, but he's also staking a claim as arguably the #1 Christian rapper in the country. His art transcends age brackets, uniting people in faith and melody.

His burgeoning career isn’t limited to the studio either. Lil Ziggy is taking his gift on the road, with bookings already in Houston and growing interest from cities far and wide. This isn't just a testament to his musical talents, but also to the powerful message he carries with him.

A recent highlight of his journey was at a 'Friday Night Live' event. Here, Lil Ziggy bravely ventured to quote Romans 10:9, leading not just youngsters but also adults in a heartfelt rendition of the sinner's prayer. It was a room full of hope, faith, and a collective spirit.

If that wasn't enough, the young sensation has teamed up with his 11-year-old sister, Ariana, crafting a song that echoes the familiar theme of the much-loved "Waymaker". A song that, much like its inspiration, captures the essence of God's spirit and paves the way for Lil Ziggy to step into his role as a preacher.

It's not a stretch to imagine, given his trajectory and passion, that Lil Ziggy is on the path to becoming one of the most influential Generation Z evangelists. With his music as the vessel, he is poised to lead countless young souls to Jesus, not just in his home country but globally.

To witness this young prodigy in action, and to provide the youth of your community with a musical experience that promises to be both entertaining and spiritually uplifting, consider booking Lil Ziggy for your next student event. For more information, visit grownandsaved.com/booking.

This isn’t just the beginning of a music career; it’s the start of a global movement. And Lil Ziggy is leading the charge with melody, faith, and a spirit that is truly inspirational.

Riddle me this. At what point in time, have you been convinced to go somewhere, do something or buy something where the person presenting the opportunity shed a negative light on the very thing they were promoting. I mean imagine yourself walking on a car lot and the salesman says “Yeah, this car is absolutely undependable but it does have the possibility to get you certain places.” I am sure you would walk away in disbelief. This is what I have been in the cut observing. Why would a Pastor, Artist or Believer get on a platform and shed a negative light on the church? I get it famo, its being transparent or dare I say colloquially, keeping it real. That being said, I must adamantly disagree. I will also double down and say it’s unproductive, sabotage and simply weirdo behavior. Yes, all organizations and even people have positive and negative nuances. However, everything is not for public consumption. Now I am not eluding to being dishonest or manipulative. I am speaking about using wisdom. I am speaking about putting Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: She shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her.” Into action. I won’t make the broad generalization that they are purposely creating confusion. I have just found that for some reason Christians catch this strange mental fog when speaking to the main stream. I don’t know if its zeal, ignorance or just a lame way of thinking. But I do know this, the pandering has to stop. We as men and women of God are here to love EVERYONE, not be loved by everyone. The truth is a very divisive thing. There will be or already has been a time in your life where you realize telling someone the truth can be an awesome experience or the death of a relationship. Now of course, its your job as the communicator to do so respectfully and clearly. It is not your job to comprehend it for people. The point I am making is “stand on business” God is not in a popularity contest. He has a word that has stood and will stand. It is our job to stand on it baby!! Represent it well. Live it, learn it and teach it. God’s word has sustained me for over 25 years. I live by it, not perfectly to keep it G with you. But I will die by it undoubtedly. I am born and raised in New" Orleans. Hurricane Katrina sent me to Houston. I raised six kids and went back to college while working a fulltime job. I received a Bachelors in Business and a Masters in Education. I’ve been to jail several times, shot in my face, been hungry, homeless and confused about life. The one mainstay has been the word and my belief in God. Be steadfast! Be the normal you and speak God’s truth. You don’t have to be extra or overthink it. Our job is to represent well, the rest will be on that person and the Holy Spirit. With that being said if you are a believer, stop saying unnecessary things about the church. You could be truthful, just read the room and apply some tact famo. -Love. Terrence “Gifted Da Flamethrowa” Veal
