Most Monday nights, you can find the Grown And Saved roster gathered in the studio creating new music, sharpening one another’s gifts and building something much bigger than a record label.

These sessions are productive. The team often records five to seven songs in a single night. Some artists arrive with completed songs ready to record, while others are inspired to write new music on the spot. The atmosphere is creative, collaborative and centered on purpose.

The sessions have also become a gathering place for artists and leaders from across Houston. This week, Levi, founder of Christ XXL, stopped by the studio to check in on the team’s progress and show his support for the movement.

Behind the boards, HL Wave has done an incredible job serving as the studio engineer. He does more than record vocals—he coaches the artists, challenges them to improve and uses his experience to make the entire team stronger. Since joining Grown And Saved a year ago, his impact has helped push the movement to another level.

Having Houston rap legend Dougie D of the legendary Guerrilla Maab on the roster has also brought experience, credibility and wisdom to the team. His presence represents a powerful connection between Houston’s musical legacy and the new generation of faith-driven artists emerging from the city.

Lil Ziggy and Young Jayden are regulars at the Monday night sessions, consistently developing their sound and creating new music. Meanwhile, rising artists such as Ryan Perez, Wayzo and Orion are finding their place within the family and working on their first albums with the label.

Von Won leads the team musically, but the vision extends far beyond making songs. Grown And Saved also serves as a discipleship tool—meeting artists in a place that is familiar to them and using music, relationships and mentorship to draw them closer to Christ.

That mission is becoming even clearer as Grown And Saved transitions into a nonprofit organization with a renewed focus on ministry over music. The songs matter, but transformed lives matter more. The goal is not simply to build artists or release successful projects; it is to build disciples and create music that points people toward Jesus.
