Houston rap legend Dougie D, formerly of the iconic group Guerilla Maab, is stepping into a powerful new season of life and music. Known for his lyrical skill and authentic storytelling alongside Houston legends like Trae Da Truth and Z-Ro, Dougie D made his mark as one of H-Town’s most respected voices, collaborating with southern rap icons including Bun B of UGK.
Raised in a musical family, Dougie developed a passion for music at an early age as his parents filled their home with singing and live instruments. Throughout his career, his music reflected real-life experiences, struggles, and triumphs from his perspective as a Black man in America. But after years in the mainstream rap scene, Dougie experienced a life-changing spiritual transformation, dedicating his life and musical gift fully to Jesus Christ.
After videos of Dougie performing faith-based freestyles began circulating online, Houston pastor and Christian Hip Hop artist Von Won connected with him, leading to a partnership with Grown And Saved. Following the release of his debut Christian single “Blessing Me” and a live performance at Space City Church, Dougie D is now using his music to inspire people, share his faith, and lead listeners closer to God.
